We had such a fun evening with Amer Zahr on Instagram Live on May the 8th. We discussed “being Arab”, played some games, danced a little and found out about Amer’s musical talents! Thank you to everyone who tuned in from around the world and laughed along – you made it all the more special!

We started the evening by finding out how Amer’s been passing the time in lock-down and what he’s been doing to stay sane. We knew he’d been doing a lot of cooking on his Instagram, so we needed to do a deep dive, and see what he’s got going on in his fridge!
After seeing a lot of Arabic products in his fridge, we played some fun word associations – spoiler alert, Shawarma got a big reaction from Amer!
We also found out Amer is a musician! He serenaded us with a wonderful cover of Abdel Halim Hafez’s “Ahwak” on the Oud, which got a wonderful reception from our viewers.
All in all, the evening was filled with laughter, music and joy. We want to give a special shout out to Amer for making us all laugh during this difficult time and for helping us to raise awareness for our students and their families who have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
