On Friday 18th October the Galilee Foundation and the Andrea Bocelli Foundation joined forces to sing for education. Two wonderful voices, Andrea Bocelli and Zeina Barhoum, singing solo or blending beautifully together, enchanted a full house comprising a generous audience passionate about opera, education or even both.
During the dinner that followed, an impromptu auction of 3 tickets was held entitling the holders to attendance at a concert with Andrea Bocelli at Teatro Silenzio in Lajatico, Tuscany, his hometown, with dinner at his farmhouse. Hearty congratulations and warm thanks to those couples who won the auction to this exciting and exclusive event. The event also received media coverage from Al Araby TV who aired a Shababeek program on the fundraiser and spoke to Zeina Barhoum about her participation in the event.
Together, the two foundations raised almost £760,000, to be split evenly between them for educational programmes, a successful outcome to pleasure and philanthropy combined.
