This year, like so many before, we are taking part in two London races, the Saucony 10K (formally the Asics 10K) on 14th July and the Royal Parks Half Marathon on 13th October. All the places are gone for the Saucony 10K but we still have some spots for the Royal Parks Half. The purpose of course is to raise funds for our projects to empower young disadvantaged Palestinians through education. The need has never been greater.
If you are a runner or an aspiring runner, it’s an opportunity to lace up your running shoes and claim a spot in the Royal Parks Half. All we ask of our runners is that they raise at least £350 from their friends, family and wider network. More is very welcome, of course, and some have raised thousands for our educational programmes so if you are an ambitious fundraiser the sky is the limit.
The Saucony 10K is a street run past London’s famous landmarks and is short enough to be able to walk if you are a tortoise and not a hare.
The Royal Parks Half is for seasoned longer distance runners and as its name suggests involves a winding, scenic route through the Royal Parks. Tickets for this event have already completely sold out so once our 10 spots are gone, they are gone. We suggest you grab one quickly. We already have four runners signing up.
If you want to be part of Team Galilee, email us on admin@galieefoundation.org.uk and we will send you a registration link to the race. We will ask you for a photo and a short bio on why you want to run for us which we will use on our social media.
We will help you with setting up a Just Giving fundraising page linked to ours and you will get one of our stylish unique running vests for your training and running journey. On the big day we will come and cheer you on, catch you at the finish line, share your triumphs and take photos.
It’s always lots of fun. Come join us!
