Our partners in Haifa, The Arab Culture Association, defied the constraints of the Coronavirus Pandemic by organising a very successful virtual lecture for Galilee Foundation students from all three years of study who are currently on medical, nursing and healthcare courses. The lecturer was Dr Osama Tannous who spoke about the role of healthworkers in professional and social settings.
Dr Tannous is a specialist paediatrician working in Haifa as
a clinical instructor in the Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in
the Technicon. He is pursuing a Masters Degree in Public Health at Tel Aviv
University and is a researcher in the Galilee Society, the Arab National
Society for Health Research and Services. He is also a 2020 candidate for a
Fulbright Hubert Humphrey Fellowship in Public Health and health Policies. His
current research interest is structural violence and health disparities.
