Aiding Gazan medical students affected by the war on Gaza

This project will provide these students with financial support and essential resources, allowing them to continue their education uninterrupted despite the challenging circumstances.

Giving back to the community

Giving back is an important part of the Scholarship Programme where our students commit to volunteer work with local civil society organisations. Every year about 3,500 people, mostly children & youth, benefit directly from the volunteering programme.

Our Programmes in Gaza

Our work in Gaza has evolved to provide essential medical and mental health care to Palestinian children and youth amidst the current conflict.

How we support students

Our work in Gaza is rapidly changing due to the nature of the current catastrophic war.

Programmes in Gaza

IMET2000

The International Medical Education Trust (IMET2000), a British-registered charity, works internationally, particularly in low-resource countries, to improve the physical and mental health of victims of violent conflict, refugees, extreme economic deprivation or natural disasters including pandemics, through funding higher education, clinical research and training of healthcare professionals in all disciplines. Its goal is to improve healthcare in low resource countries by providing continuous professional development for all workers and improving their conditions at work through added resources so that they serve their own people rather than joining the brain drain to wealthier societies.

The Galilee Foundation is supporting IMET2000 with funding for its prosthetic limbs for child amputees in Gaza project. IMET2000 is increasingly approached to help children and young individuals with amputated arms and/or legs as a result of the brutal war in Gaza. In this pilot project, and in partnership with the Arab American University in Jenin, IMET2000 hopes to provide these children with bespoke-built prosthetics, giving them hope for the future and the belief that once the war is over, they can begin to envisage a return to normal life.

FQMS/Hanoon Foundation

The Al Quds Foundation for Medical Schools in Palestine (FQMS/Hanoon Foundation) is a British-registered charity, founded in 1997 to advance medical education in Palestine. It has a proven track record of supporting educational initiatives in challenging environments and of empowering Palestinians to become future healthcare leaders.
