Last Sunday saw a phenomenal turn out and a spirited performance from Team Galilee in The Royal Parks Half Marathon. We entered a team of 11 runners with the aim of raising as much money as possible for The Galilee Foundation.
Amongst our runners were Omar, Hebah and Hana who ran in memory of their cousin and sister, Noor, who sadly passed away just weeks before the race. It was a particularly poignant day for them, but despite the heavy emotions they each finished the race in style and told us how much it meant to be running for Palestine in Noor’s memory.
The day could not have gone any better weather wise and the Galilee marquee was abuzz with supporters. The runners friends and family, whilst eating baklava learnt about all of the great work we have been doing throughout the year, work such as our scholarship programme, identity workshops and funding of cultural initiatives.
The Just Giving link is still live and you can still donate to the page, with all donations going towards lifting disadvantaged young people in Palestine/Israel, out of poverty through education.
