The Galilee Foundation would like to welcome our two new patrons, Vanessa Redgrave CBE and Baroness Jenny Tonge.
Vanessa Redgrave, described as the greatest actress of our time” by Tennessee Williams, and the only British actress to win the Oscar, Emmy, Tony, Cannes, Golden Globe, and the Screen Actors Guild awards, has been a long-time supporter of the Palestinian cause.
Dr Jenny Tonge was raised to the peerage as Baroness Tonge of Kew in 2005. An advocate of women’s health and international development issues, she has recently been awarded the Justice and Freedom Award by the Palestinian Return Centre for her ongoing, open support for the Palestinian cause.
Both extraordinary women have had the courage to speak out against injustice, often to the detriment of their own careers. The Galilee Foundation is honoured to have them on board and we look forward to working together with them to raise awareness on the issue of the Palestinian minority in Israel, and support development of their communities.
